About : The Chiller

The Chiller was an idea I had stirring in my head for a long time. The idea was that I wanted to create a website that would deal with something of my interest, that I could build and maintain with enthusiasm.
I decided to put this idea into reality and create a website dedicated to Chilling Out and relaxing. Having only been listening to the Chill Out Ambient music scene for slightly over two years, I decided that I should make a site with a focus on Chilling Out. I looked around the web for design ideas. This coupled with an artistic knowledge of design helped me to piece together a site in my mind, and lo behold, The Chiller was born...

When designing The Chiller I wanted it to look calm, cool and pleasing to the eye with a range of subdued and chilled colours. Aesthetics was my top priority in the creation of graphics and colour schemes as well as the layout. I didn't want the site to be cluttered, but not too minimalist or plain. I wanted the fine balance that you see before you now. The site is very esay to navigate with a nice chilled colour scheme and a simple layout. Nothing that pressures the eyes, but instead, relaxes them.

A little about me now: I am 18 years old and am studying a BEd/Physical Education course at Edinbrugh University, Scotland. I was born and raised in Scotland and am very well travlled, having been to an array of countries which includes, Australia, Majorca, Cyprus, Egypt, United States to name a few.

I was first introduced to the Chill Out music scene a few years ago when working as a lifeguard at an outdoor pool. The sun was beating down somewhat that day, and someone decided to play Sunset Ibiza through the speaker system at the pool. Ill always remember that lovely day as it was warm and approaching closing time, with the pool empty, the sun starting to go set and after a long day, all I needed to do was Chill. That's what settled me into the Chill Out scene. The one tune that stuck in my mind that day was the legendary 'Offshore' by Chicane.

My aim of The Chiller is to promote Chill Out scene as well as provide a reference website with some ideas and information about chilling out and relaxing. On the site you can also discover information about other elements such as drinks, items and holiday resorts that have a great chill out culture. The Chiller is to aid and enhance your chill out experience.
I feel I have done a good job of The Chiller, considering I dont have much experience in creating websites and Hopefully there are no errors in the site and you can browse trouble free.

The Chiller is all my own work and the reapings of my creativity, but I'd like to thank a few people for helping me with some issues when I was stuck or having problems...
