| 21st April 2004 | Important news about TheChiller.........

| Track | Bent - Private Road
I have decided that for now, TheChiller will remain frozen and wont be updated. I do not know if I'll take the project up again, but I feel I've covered pretty much everything I can think of. This was decided during the freeze time, and the site will remain frozen for people to gain reference from.
I look on this venture as a success for my first proper website. I enjoyed making the site and creating something a lot different to what I've seen on the web, relating to the chill out scene.. I thank you all for coming and visiting, for the support and feedback etc.
The server has had a few problems and the forum database was lost before I could take a backup copy. I have put up a new forum and it will go active sometime, if I can get round to sorting it out. It is not top of my priority list though.
The hit counter was also lost, and had over 4000 hits since the beginning, I'm realy happy with that though. I may be getting new hosting sometime, the URL will still be the same, should you decide to re-visit in the future, just with new hosting. Thanks to Wayne Baker for hsoting the site now, and for his patience and persistence in dealing with the site, thanks a bunch man.
Again, thank you for helping make this site what it was, now for the last time, may I say:
"Sit back, relax, and chill..."

| 18th January 2004 | The setting sun.........

|
Track | Afterlife - Café Del Mar
No sooner had it became December 2003, has it turned to nearly February 2004.
Well, in short - there have been no updates in around 6 weeks due to many issues. I have found the festive season and university commitments and a whole lot of other things have been the main priorities on my agenda. Sadly, TheChiller, although nearly approaching its 1 year 'birthday' in a few weeks time, has not been on this agenda and will not feature for the next few months.
Therefore, I have decided that TheChiller.tk will be frozen for a few months until I can (and if) find time to update and get more content onto it's pages. The site and forum will remain up and live, as there seems little point taking it down altogether as it would deny it's purpose which is a reference site for chilling. It shall remain inactive until I find proper time to get some updates and newer content up.
From here on the sun has set upon TheChiller until the new dawn arises with some bright ideas and more information for the purpose of chilling out.
So, until the next time, keep it sound...

| 1st December 2003 | December, news, Chicane.........

|
Track | Chicane - Lost You Somewhere (Heliotropic Mix)
Not much been happening recently, apart from December is now here. Not long until we get snowed in, as we have already had one fall of snow this year, earlier in the month.
Chilled news then? I heard that the Buzzoutroom has had some downtime due to a server crash, although it's now back up and running, so go and give Sean's radio stream a listen.
I have an essay to do within the next few days so don't expect an updates too soon. I'll get some done when I go on holiday and I will be looking for new content for all sections.
Ive been listening to a lot of Chicane recently and definitely recommend the track fo the day as wee as the ne from the 19th November too. Go and find them online and have a listen.
All for now...

| 19th November 2003 | Forum Use, Tunes, all the latest.........

| Track | Chicane - Sunstroke (DJ Quicksliver Remix)
Just a small update going on here at this late time.
I recieved a rather untoward forum message over the wekend that was of no significance to the theme of my site asn was fairly abusive. As a result, to use the forum, you must register for it. This way I can keep tabs on anyone who is abusive etc as I have IPs & ISP details etc when people register.
I think you will all agree that this place is for chilling ad not by making petty remarks that have no real need to be on a site like this. Anyway, moving swiftly on...
I have had the luck to find some new tunes by Chicane, and one of them is my track of the day. I reckon you search for stuff from Chicanes 'Chilled' album as it has some good chilled tunes.
Apart from what I've said, there isnt much else, so ill leave it there for the next few days.
Laters, peace...

| 10th November 2003 | Where have I been.........?

| Track | Afterlife - Breather 2000 (Arithunda mix)
Well doesnt time fly! A month has passed since I came home from my very exciting and enjoyable trip to the US. Theday I got back I had to get ready for University starting back and well, lots of things have been tying up my time, leaving me no time to update TheChiller.
Besides al of that, I had to build a website over at grizzle.tk for a friend, it is now complete and you can view it here.
I had a lot of work for the hockey website to do, and have been busy with some University work, besides other things.
To see any pictures from my tour to America, you can go to http://www.hockeyboyz.com and go to the 'pre-season' section and navigate the picture page from there.
Besides all this, I had to worry about a re-launch of Keepshouting.com - as I am a staff writer on the site. I recommend you give it a look as it is packed with features and stuff to do.
I am thinking of things to do for the site, and this will probably be consolidating the Main and Archive section as one, with the previous news entries being viewed from the main page.
I reckon I am goig to delete the websites onsite email form, as it has been used once in total i think and my inbox for the account gets filled with spam.
I'm glad to say I have got internet in my flat, so I'll be able to keep this place updated a little more frequently. This also meant that I have broadband again, and access to P2P software, as it was blocked online last year in University Residence. This has let me download and find more tunes by
Afterlife, and others. Ill get a full update of my chill out playlist up shortly on the music section. I also intend on adding new drinks info, so stay tuned.
Some other new stuff featured on the site is a new online radio station you can tune into, as discovered over at chilledbeats.org. This is run by a guy who calls himself Waves and his stream can be found here at: http://www.buzzoutroom.com.
There are some new images over in the images section, as well as
this website I said I'd promote. This website is from a fan of TheChiller, and I decided I'd link it here as the woman who runs it spoke nothing but good words for this site. So I feel I owe this back in the form of a link. Go visit Collins website http://www.retrodiva88.vze.com.
I also added a new artist to the Artist section. Citrona are dedicated to the chilled genre and have posted some new stuff on their site, go check it out - http://www.citrona.net.
My buddy Crookram has also been up to his old tricks and churning out some great tunes, but this time in collaboration with other artists. I highly recommend you check this guy out - http://www.crookram.net.

Word on the street is that Julien Bain, one of my favourite Chill Out artists is making some new stuff and hopes to have it finished shortly, I'll keep you posted when he does, but it may be a while, since he strives for perfection every time and is 'never happy with his work', eh Julien? In the meantime, give his site a look and see what you think of his previous works - http://www.julienbain.co.uk.

One last note is that I want to thank you all for your patience for this update and I'm glad to see there is still good interest in TheChiller. The forums have been quiet but I'm glad you people still take time out to come to my site and do whats best, chill.........

| 17th September 2003 | Apologies, America, nothing much else.........

| Track | Chicane - Autumn Tactics
First of all, sorry for not updating the site. I guess Ive been busy with some other things. I have been building a website for someone and so could not update this one at all. So, my apologies. Next thing, the site wont be updated for the next two weeks probably, as I am over in the States! I cant wait as I fly out early tomorrow morning.
Anyway, again Im sorry, and hope you keep paying a visit.
Cya in two weeks!

| 9th September 2003 | latest news, America, summer memories.........

| Track | Amber - Sexual (Afterlife Mix)
Howdy people,
I have just been freed from the pressure and chaos of exams and resits and the likes. Nightmare!
anyway, Im hoping to have for you guys by the end of the week, a lovely big update packed with some new drinks, images and hopefully a new winamp playlist, because its huge compared to the current one. Im also hoping to get some new content up on the Lifestyle section and I may be integrating the archive section into this main section. That will also be done with the contact and about page too.
The forum has seen a few new members, Im hoping for more. It only takes a minute to resgiter, you dont get spam or any crap email. Or you could just go and post without registering. Up to you though.
I have just came to realise how damn short this summer was. I did not get much time to chill as I was working a lot and had uni stuff to do nearer the latter. I guess I'll need to wait until next year. I also remember the summer I first discovered chill out music, the day I was working at the outdoor swimming pool. Sadly that pool has been closed for good and might reopen next summer, although i doubt it.
Only a week or so until I head over to the States on what my Hockey team organiser calls 'a big shopping trip.' I really cant wait to go as I will playing some of the best teams in the US at a good level of Roller Hockey!
Anyways, I must be going now, keep an ear to the ground for an update this week.
Remember, let me know if you would like any of your own input put up on the site, Id be glad to do so.
Yours In Chilling,

Mark

| 30th August 2003 | some new images, essay, golf.........

| Track | The Thrillseekers - Escape
I can't be on long just now, but to be quick, checkout the 2 new chilled images in the images section. They are really cool. Other news, I have to hand in my essay this week and am in the process of finishing it off. I have an exam on thursday too, but my hopes are pinned on my essay. Some solid work between then and now should mean I can geta good shot at the exam though, although most time has been on the essay. Wish me luck!
Ive been playing golf again, I bought a second hand set of clubs and have been enjoying myself. Im getting better every day, due to practice and its also getting me fitter, as the course is hilly!
Anyways, must be going. Ciao...

Mark

| 25th August 2003 | Go Marko! - its ya birthday - gonna chill like its ya birthday.........

| Track | Lange - Frozen Beach
Just a quick update today. Well not really an update, but a small post.
Today is my birthday, I'm a big 19 years old now and to be this age doesnt really feel exciting or different. Last year I had a massive party with my friends at this place. When I say massive I really mean it!
Anyways, i guess 19 and 20 are the ages that let you take some time out in time for another big party when you turn 21. At least in this country anyway.
Some site news, I finally got my hit counter done on the main page. It has been started at where dot.tk had monitored my unique hits. Unique hits mean if you visit the site a few times a day, then it only logs one hit.
The new one logs any hits, and isnt unique. Also, thanks to Loz Ainley for installing it for me, as I had no idea how to make one. He has helped me solve a lot of web problems, so he gets a drink courtesy of TheChiller.
Slightly sidetracked, but the site hits are pretty steady (which is good) and they peaked when the whole debate about this site being a copy was at its peak.
Once again, tell a friend of the site, enjoy your stay and call back every now and again when you need to chill...
Audios, for now...I'm off to eat some cake!

| 21st August 2003 | new CD compilation, forum and er, thats it.........

| Track | Schiller - Das Glockenspiel (Schill Out Mix)
Well, it looks like dot.tk is back online and the main domain name is back up. Thank god as I don't know if many people know my server address. For those who don't, here it is again - http://www.iccle.com/~thechiller/
The forum has attracted some good responses to the reply made by a person called The_Truth. I was hoping it would bring some opinions from somewhere and most are different to others and looks like it has. Have a read here.
The main update of today is that my new chill out compilation, imaginatively titled 'Chill Out Mix - Summer 2003' is now available for you to go and view. Its over on the music section and by clicking the music tab on the navigation bar, you should find it. If you want to comment about the tracklist or whatever, then let me know on the forum.
To wrap things up for todays update, I am encouraged by the votes over here at this poll.
I am very pleased that you all like my site and this is encouraging for me, as I think I will continue the site for a while yet, provided the hits stay reasonable and the interest high.
Im off to listen to my new CD, bye for now...

| 20th August 2003 | Late nights, forum talk, voting poll.........

| Track | Tall Paul vs INXS - Precious Heart (Lush Remix)
Just a quick update tonight as its late and I need some sleep.
The main reason fr posting is because the web address http://www.thechiller.tk
hasnt been working since yesterday and for most of today, well for me anyways. If you have a good knowledge of the web and have used my server address which is http://www.iccle.com/~thechiller/ then you will be able to view the page. I don't know if dot.tk is working or not, so I am posting this anyway.

Tonight I finally sorted out my most recent library of chilled music tracks, Ill have a list up tomorrow sometime. It has grown largely since the last one, by around 300 tunes!
Track of the day is a remix of a favourite house tune of mine and I love it. Its a long one at 8mins, but sure is worth it. I suggest you try and find this track and listen for yourselves.
Now its time to get your thinking caps on (I know mine certainly isn't at this time of the night) and have a look at this forum post. I was intrigued by the mystery persons opinion, and gave him a response that I think is satisfactory. Have a read for yourself and then vote over on this poll.
I'll leave you to it while I get a good nights sleep. Until tomorrow, chill...

Mark

| 18th August 2003 | Site plans, site future, other nonsense.........

| Track | Chemical Brothers - Star Guitar
Track of the day is one of my favourites and
I havent much to write about today. I have been busy but should find some time to get some new stuff up soon. I have been having talks with Litervis who runs a Zero7 fan website over at Zeroseven.tk and he has been giving me ideas to try and boost the sites popularity. Its been good to see some people signing up to the forum and I thank you for doing so. It doesnt require you to register, although Id prefer if you did, so let your thoughts be known and go post.
Also, I am open to artists, radio show hosts etc posting about their works on the forum for eveyone to go and see.
Hopefully in the next few days I'll have some new stuff up and I may even write another article myself, to give you people more to read about.
Im going to condense the main & archive sections together as well as the About and Contact sections, to make the menu bar smaller. Any other ideas, then let me know...
Im off for now, bookmark the site, tell a friend, grab a beer and chillllllllll...
